A road with two endings,
A road with two views,
A road with two ways,
But a road with no cars

This is shot definitely has potential mate, but it's not quite there. It's hard to nail down exactly different techniques to make this more interesting, but I'll try ;)

I think the main thing thats "wrong" is that it is just a picture of a road. While the road is straight and definitely offers some excellent lines which would make for a good picture, it doesn't do much when it looks so ordinary. I have a few ideas to change this, here they are haha:
1. Turn around and shoot toward the sun. The road might not be as straight on this side but it will put a lot of drama and contrast into your picture having such a bright light there. Plus, if you shot toward the sun, you could take a few steps back and get a shot of the tree casting that shadow blocking the sun.
2.take the same shot as this, but take a few steps back. Im thinking that will give you a shot of the tree to the right, which will bring out more of a subject. While you could say the road is the subject, and it can be, it is better for the road to be a line, rather then a subject, that leads you to the center of the picture.
3. Try a bunch of different angles. This is one thing that I always have problems with, finding the right angle. In this picture if might have helped to get lower, which would make the road more dominant as the subject, and I think it would have a good effect on the sky. But also it might be neat to get higher (you could climb in that tree I keep talking about ;) ) and then you would see the road draw you into the tree line where there could possibly be interesting terrain, or at least an interesting forest by the looks of things.
4. Grab that box and throw it closer to the road, then get a close up, at a lowdown angle shooting upward, of the box and the road going straight past it. That will also give you a good subject.

People say Practice makes perfect, but I think there is no such thing as perfection in photography mate. All you can do is try and experiment with different things until you find something that makes you happy, and that's what is really important, that you yourself are happy with the outcome.
That being said one of the reasons I wrote such a long review on this is that it's good to look at other's work and critique the living crap out of it, thinking of everything else you could do to make it better. That way when you take your camera out next time you will already be prepared with new ideas and plans.
The other reason is that I really like this picture, its good and it shows an amazing amount of potential. Keep up the good work, I always expect to see more out of you!

you can only get better. :) Good luck
